For some reason, I am drawn to themes that involve running away.  When things get tough...run!  I've just recently come to this realization. (In future entries, I will reflect on this more.)

A friend of mine (Billy) told me that I needed to rent this movie called Big Eden.  I had seen it at Blockbuster, picked it up and read the cover but I always put it back.

Tonight, I was feeling a little down...rainy weather, bills stacking up, payday 4 days away, missing my family and friends so I decided to rent it.

Please check out the link below.  It's the website for the movie.  The cast is so recognizable.  The whole time I was watching it, I was thinking, "that woman is in that Seinfeld episode where Jerry went to her office and heckled her and she ran outside to get away from him (running away theme again) and a bus ran over her toe."  Or "that's the guy from the Ellen show."  The reverse Jerry is also in it.  I even saw a couple of people from old Golden Girls episodes.

My favorite character is the indian named Pike.  Woof!

Please, if you see this movie at the video store...rent it, buy it, watch it.  You will love it.

This is the song that inspired my name...

Small Town Boy

The Age Of Consent (Somerville/Steinbachek/Bronski)
You leave in the morning
With everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform
The wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Mother will never understand
Why you had to leave
But the answers you seek
Will never be found at home
The love that you need
Will never be found at home

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.

Pushed around and kicked around
Always a lonely boy
You were the one
That they'd talk about around town
As they put you down

And as hard as they would try
They'd hurt to make you cry
But you never cried to them
Just to your soul
No you never cried to them
Just to your soul

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.

Cry , boy, cry...

You leave in the morning
With everything you own
In a little black case
Alone on a platform
The wind and the rain
On a sad and lonely face

Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.
Run away, turn away, run away, turn away, run away.

These are my kids.
